Service, Friendship, and a Little SF Humor

What Are You Doing in the Community?

We have an amazing group of Rotarians who are making a difference in so many ways! But I have a question for you: What are you doing in the community outside of our club’s regular Rotary projects and activities? Whether you’re volunteering with another organization, supporting a local cause, helping a neighbor, or participating in a community event, we want to hear about it! Let us know what you’re involved in and how Niles Rotary might be able to help. You never know when another Rotarian may want to join you or lend a hand. Happy Cup is a great opportunity to share what you’re doing, make connections, and invite others to get involved. The more we share, the more opportunities we create to serve our community together!

You Are Not Alone

Life has its ups and downs. Sometimes things go exactly as planned, and other times life throws us a curveball. That’s part of being human, and it’s why being part of a Rotary family matters. We’re more than a group that meets on Thursdays. We’re a community of friends who care about one another. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it and always keep an eye out for someone who might need you. Show up, stay engaged, check in on one another, and look for ways to lend a hand. Sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference. Remember, we’re here for one another. You are not alone!

Celebrating 27 Years — And apparently, I’m Famous in San Francisco!

First Lady Michelle and I recently celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary with a fun trip into the City. We had a wonderful time together! But I also made an exciting discovery: San Francisco has an entire store dedicated to I Love SF merchandise. Naturally, I assumed it was all about me – Sam Forbes! I was this close to bringing back T-shirts for the club. Unfortunately, after a closer look, I realized the shirts said I Love SF, not I Love Sam Forbes. What a disappointment! So, club members, you narrowly escaped receiving matching Sam Forbes anniversary shirts. You’re welcome! After 27 years of marriage, Michelle still puts up with me and apparently, I’m still finding new ways to entertain myself.
