What a wonderful week it has been for the Niles Rotary Club of Fremont!
The final Concert in the Park was another tremendous success. It was an honor to once again represent our club during intermission and share the story of Rotary with our community. Every opportunity we have to tell others about Rotary plants, a seed that could one day grow into a new member, volunteer, or supporter of our mission.
Fellowship Matters
This month’s Fellowship Friday was graciously hosted by Past President Chuck Canada. Thank you, Chuck, for opening your home to our Rotary family. Fellowship is one of the greatest strengths of Rotary. While our service projects improve our community, it is the friendships we build that strengthen our club. The more we get to know one another outside of our weekly meetings, the stronger we become as a team. I encourage everyone
to attend our fellowship events whenever you can—you’ll create friendships that last a lifetime.
Fremont Festival of the Arts
The 42nd Annual Fremont Festival of the Arts was another fantastic weekend! Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, or, as we sometimes say, were “voluntold.” For decades, our club has proudly played an important role in helping make this event a success. That tradition reflects who we are—a club that shows up, rolls up its sleeves, and serves our community. I hope this legacy continues for many years to come.
Club Assembly This Thursday
This week’s meeting is one of the most important of the Rotary year—our Club Assembly. You’ll hear updates from our Club Officers and Committee Chairs about what they’ve accomplished, what’s coming up, and where they could use your help. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, this is your opportunity. Don’t be shy—join a committee! Whether your passion is membership, service projects, youth, fundraising, fellowship, public image, or The Rotary Foundation, there’s a place for you to make a difference. Many hands make light work, and together we can accomplish so much more.
District 5170 Coffee Table Book
This is your last opportunity to have your name included to purchase the District 5170 Coffee Table Book, featuring every Rotary club in our district. If you’re interested, don’t miss the deadline! I have one challenge for each of you this week: Wear your Rotary pin—or Rotary apparel—whenever you can.
This past weekend, while volunteering at the Festival of the Arts, I had countless conversations about Rotary simply because people noticed my Rotary vest and pin. Those conversations led to invitations to attend one of our club meetings. (Let’s just hope they don’t all decide to come on
the same Thursday!) Remember, every one of us is an ambassador for Rotary. You don’t have to be Club President to tell someone about the amazing work we do. Even if someone can’t join our club, they may become a volunteer, donor, supporter, or simply leave with a better understanding of Rotary’s
impact.
And one final thought…
Do good when you think no one is watching. But even more importantly, do good when everyone is watching. Our actions reflect not only on ourselves, but on our Rotary family. Let’s continue to be known as people of integrity, compassion, and service. Finally, happy birthday and happy anniversary to all of our members who celebrated during the month of July! We hope your special day was filled with joy and thank you for everything you do for our club.
