Fellowship, Service, and Sharing Rotary

Fellowship Friday

A big thank you to Cyndy Mo for opening her home and hosting this past week’s Fellowship Friday. It was another wonderful evening filled with great food, laughter, and most importantly, fellowship. This was our final Fellowship Friday of the year, and I want to thank everyone who opened their homes, brought food and drinks, helped organize, and took the time to attend throughout the year. These gatherings are a great reminder that Rotary is about more than what we accomplish together. We also use this time to get to know the people we’re serving alongside.

Sharing is Caring

One of the simplest ways we can make a difference is by sharing. Share your time. Share your talents. Share your resources. Share a kind word; and don’t forget to Share Rotary! When you’re at an event, talking with a friend, meeting someone new, or simply wearing your Rotary shirt or pin, you have an opportunity to tell someone about the work we do. You never know what one conversation can lead to. The person you invite might become a Rotarian. They might volunteer at one of our projects. They might support one of our nonprofits. Or they might simply learn something they didn’t know about Rotary. You don’t have to convince someone to join Rotary. Just share what Rotary means to you.

October Is the Time for Festivities!

October is shaping up to be a busy month, with so many great events happening throughout our community. Organizations including NAMI Alameda County, Candle Lighters, Washington Health, SOS Meals on Wheels, Olive Hyde Art Guild, One Child, and many others will be hosting events and activities. These are wonderful opportunities for us to support organizations that are making a difference in our community—and they are also opportunities to make sure people know that Niles Rotary is here and serving. So, here’s my challenge: Attend an event. Wear your Rotary swag. Introduce yourself. Share Rotary. Let’s show our community that Niles Rotary isn’t just a club that meets on Thursday afternoons. We are Rotarians who show up, roll up our sleeves, and serve.

Thank you for everything you do for Niles Rotary. I am honored to serve alongside each of you, and I am excited about what we will accomplish together in the months ahead.
