Rotary Foundation Chair

Job Description

The Club Rotary Foundation Chair leads the club’s efforts to support and promote the programs, mission, and fundraising goals of The Rotary Foundation (International level). This position works closely with the Club President, District Rotary Foundation leadership, and club members to encourage Foundation participation, charitable giving, and involvement in Rotary grant opportunities and humanitarian projects.

The Foundation Chair helps educate members about the impact of the Rotary Foundation locally and globally while supporting the club’s service mission through Foundation programs and grants.

Primary Responsibilities

Foundation Education & Awareness

  • Educate club members about the mission, programs, and impact of the The Rotary Foundation.
  • Promote understanding of Rotary Foundation programs, including district grants, global grants, scholarships, PolioPlus, and humanitarian initiatives.
  • Provide Foundation updates and presentations during club meetings and events.
  • Encourage member participation in Foundation-related activities and programs.

Foundation Fundraising & Giving

  • Lead the club’s efforts to encourage contributions to Rotary Foundation funds and campaigns.
  • Promote participation in giving programs including:
    • Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY)
    • Sustaining Member Program
    • Paul Harris Fellow Recognition
    • Paul Harris Society
    • Major Donor Program
    • Bequest Society
  • Encourage both annual giving and long-term charitable support of the Foundation.
  • Work with club leadership to establish annual Foundation giving goals.

PolioPlus & Humanitarian Support

  • Promote awareness and fundraising efforts for the PolioPlus campaign and Rotary’s global eradication initiative.
  • Encourage club participation in humanitarian projects supported through the Rotary Foundation.
  • Support collaboration with other Rotary clubs and district initiatives on Foundation-related projects.

Committee Leadership & Succession Planning

  • Chair the club’s Rotary Foundation Committee.
  • Recruit committee members and encourage member involvement in Foundation activities.
  • Identify, mentor, and develop future Foundation leadership within the club.
  • Work closely with the Club President, Board, and District Rotary Foundation Chair (DRFC).

Goal of the Position

To strengthen the impact and involvement of the Niles Rotary Club of Fremont in supporting the mission of The Rotary Foundation through education, fundraising, grant participation, and humanitarian service that benefits communities locally and around the world.
