President-Elect
Job Description
The Club President-Elect serves as the primary support to the Club President and prepares to assume the role of Club President in the following Rotary year. The President-Elect assists with leadership, planning, club operations, and strategic goals while helping ensure continuity and long-term success for the club.
In addition, the President-Elect serves as Chair of the club’s Annual Fundraiser and plays a key leadership role in coordinating and supporting major club initiatives and events.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership Support
- Assist and support the Club President with leadership responsibilities and club operations.
- Preside over club meetings and events in the absence of, or at the request of, the Club President.
- Perform duties and responsibilities that ordinarily pertain to the office of President-Elect.
- Help ensure continuity of leadership, club goals, and strategic planning.
Preparation for Presidency
- Prepare to assume the office of Club President for the following Rotary year.
- Become familiar with club operations, committee functions, finances, bylaws, club policies, and Rotary policies.
- Participate in leadership planning, Board discussions, and goal-setting activities.
- Attend district leadership training, President-Elect training seminars, and Rotary conferences as required or recommended by Rotary International and the district.
Annual Fundraiser Chair
- Serve as Chairperson for the club’s Annual Fundraiser.
- Lead planning, organization, promotion, and execution of the fundraiser event.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers, committees, sponsors, donors, and event participants.
- Work with the Treasurer and Board to establish fundraising goals, budgets, and financial oversight.
- Help secure sponsorships, raffle prizes, auction items, and community partnerships.
- Coordinate event logistics, marketing, ticket sales, and event operations.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and reporting to the Board.
Club Collaboration & Engagement
- Work closely with committee chairs and Board members to support club projects and activities.
- Encourage member participation, fellowship, and leadership development.
- Assist with strategic planning and long-term club development initiatives.
- Support club membership growth, public image efforts, and community engagement activities.
- Sitting member of the Niles Rotary Foundation Board
Goal of the Position
To support the successful leadership and operations of the Niles Rotary Club of Fremont while preparing for future service as Club President and leading a successful Annual Fundraiser that supports the club’s charitable and community service mission.
