Job Description

TThe Club Sergeant-at-Arms is responsible for helping maintain order, professionalism, and a positive atmosphere during club meetings and events. This position supports the Club President by assisting with meeting operations, member engagement, meeting decorum, and general meeting logistics.

The Sergeant-at-Arms performs duties customarily associated with the role and any additional responsibilities assigned by the Club President or Board of Directors.

Primary Responsibilities

Meeting Order & Decorum

  • Help maintain order and professionalism during club meetings and official functions.
  • Assist the Club President in ensuring meetings begin and end on time.
  • Encourage respectful meeting conduct and positive member participation.
  • Help minimize distractions and support smooth meeting flow.
  • Run the COGS Program

Meeting Operations & Logistics

  • Assist with meeting setup and room preparation when needed.
  • Help coordinate seating, flags, banners, microphones, audiovisual equipment, and other meeting materials.
  • Support guest registration, introductions, and welcoming activities.
  • Assist with raffles, drawings, fines, recognition activities, or other club traditions as directed by the President.
  • Ensure meeting materials and supplies are available and organized.

Member & Guest Engagement

  • Welcome members, guests, visiting Rotarians, and speakers.
  • Help create a friendly, engaging, and enjoyable club atmosphere.
  • Encourage fellowship and participation among members.

Leadership Support

  • Work closely with the Club President, Secretary, and meeting committees to support successful meetings and events.
  • Assist with special club functions, ceremonies, fundraisers, and social events when requested.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Club President or Board of Directors.
