An Amazing Year of Service

It feels like only a few weeks ago that I stepped up to the podium and addressed my first meeting as the President of Niles Rotary. Yet, I am now in my final month, looking forward to welcoming President Elect Sam Forbes in July and taking on the exciting but slightly less pressured role of Social Chair!

In a year that truly flew by, I had the joy of watching my theme ‘Impacting Tomorrow Today’ become a reality. There were more trees planted at Lake Elizabeth, a clean up of a local park, support for set up and take down of the Candlelighter’s Ghost House, food distribution for the hungry, a school teaching garden created and much, much more.

A high point was visiting Honduras and seeing firsthand how our club improved the lives of elementary school students there by providing clean and safe bathrooms. Supporting the effort to help third world areas prevent unnecessary deaths due to cervical cancer is an ongoing project that makes me, and everyone at Niles Rotary, especially proud. Together, we continue proving that when Rotarians unite, amazing things happen.

If hearing of what we can do when Rotarians unite has made you curious, I invite you to join us for lunch and experience firsthand how Niles Rotary is “Impacting Tomorrow, Today” as we “Unite for Good” — both in our local community and around the world. We meet every Thursday at noon, at Washington Hospital West Building, Conrad E. Anderson, MD Auditorium on 2500 Mowry Avenue in Fremont. See you there!
